"Every Child should be in school and enjoy childhood" may be a dream for most but for Pillar Foundation it is a reality they strive to achive.
Based on the non-negotiable principle that no child works and every child works full time formal school as a matter of right. Pillar Foundation has been working towards abolition of Child Labour in all its forms for last two years. From its humble beginning from three villages(Kenadhipa, Mahada, Katangpani) in 2009, it has now spread its philosophy to different places of western Orissa.
Currently Pillar foundation is implementing the programme directly small villages in sumbalpur districts(Tikilipada. Rengalbeda,Kasada,Chinimahul, Khairdihi, Badibahal,Kuagola) Pillar also provides technical support to verious NGOs along with its resource persons to the most backward areas of western Orissa.
Way back in the 2009, Pillar Foundation pioneered the concept of the Residential Bridge Course(RBC) camps to prove to the community, parents and the children that poverty is not the only cause for child labour and to disprove the myth that older children cannot study.
It has also initiated programmes related to right to health and nutrition of the children below six years of age, rights of adolescent girls and write to self mother hood
PILLAR FOUNDATION AND KARTABYA
The joint initiative of Pillar foundation and Kartabya will organise the I-Brain competition II on 30th April 2012. The motto of this voluntary exercise is to create opportunities for the students from Std.-V to Std.-X who will be habituated to a Year-Round competitive environment and can develop their EQ and IQ as well. Questions are set as per the intuitive power of the competitors. There will be one Hr. in each test.
The Question Pattern will be as follows:
General Knowledge - 10 marks
Reasoning - 10 marks
mathmatics - 15 marks
English - 15 marks
There will be two different set of questions for different groups:
Group-1 : Class 5th,6th, 7th
Group-2 Class 8th, 9th, 10th
